FINAL YEAR CAPSTONE PURPOSE
The capstone project is a collaboration between third-year graphic design students and a local nonprofit organization. The purpose is to provide students with an opportunity to develop and apply Fanshawe College’s Silex learning experiences and job skills for the future.
OBJECTIVE
The objectives of this project has three outcomes. Create a 30 Years in St. Mary's graphic to incorporate the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Museum logo. Two, create a campaign to increase awareness across Canada and within a 2-hour radius of CBHFM, positioning it as a must-visit destination for Canadian Baseball history. The campaign should promote CBHFM's unique collection and engaging experiences while driving visits to the museum. Three, students will prepare a “Marketing by Design Guide” to be used in other courses to keep the marketing message and branding consistent across all class projects.
PROCESS
For The Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum's 30-year anniversary in St. Marys, I embarked on a creative journey to design a brand that captured the essence of this historic milestone. Inspired by the rich legacy of the game, I crafted a logo that blended classic elements with a modern touch, symbolizing the transition from the greats of the past to the rising stars of the future. The logo featured a baseball as well as a 30 in the bottom left of the icon. The color scheme incorporated timeless hues of red, white, and blue, paying homage to baseball's Americana roots. Additionally, I crafted stationary, banners, and mock social media posts that seamlessly integrated the anniversary brand, creating a cohesive and memorable visual identity for this momentous celebration in St. Marys.
