OBJECTIVE
Create a retro album cover and gig poster that captures the essence of classic records from the past.
PROCESS
Creating a retro album cover involves a few key elements that are essential for capturing the vintage look and feel of classic records. I began by choosing an artist and browsing 70’s floral era designs. After researching and seeing inspiration I chose my colour palette and began drawing different types of flowers in procreate. I wanted to keep the face very simplistic to go along with the theme chosen. I decided to go for a retro font that displays the era I was going for and make it large and bold colours to stand out but still fit the colour palette. To make the entire design come together I decided to add a grain effect to capture the 70’s as I saw fit.
